Karen’s accounting career started in Sydney for a second tier audit firm, whilst attending university on a part-time basis. Karen then moved to PwC in the Superannuation Division and was involved in Fund Accounting, Fund Administration, special projects and related advice for Employer Super Funds. In 1999 Karen’s skill set and experience led her to a Central Coast firm with the specific task of creating a Self-Managed Superannuation Services division. Karen completed her qualifications as Chartered Accountant in 2000 and also gained her Practicing Certificate.

 

Karen has been involved in her children’s School P&C Associations and various Sporting Communities throughout the years, assisting in many treasury and financial capacities. Whilst her three children were young, Karen worked from her home office as a sole practitioner, building her client base and expanding her small business and general taxation knowledge.

 

In 2006 Karen returned to full time employment with a Central Coast Chartered Accounting firm, in the position of Senior Manager. Karen has been responsible for key clients on local, national and global scales from a variety of industries. Karen has provided technical advice in relation to International Taxation Issues, GST, Capital Gains Tax, Fringe Benefits Tax, Superannuation and Self-Managed Superannuation Funds. Karen’s strengths are in providing specific advice, advanced strategies and in communicating effectively with clients.

 

Karen has attained the qualification of Self Managed Superannuation Fund Specialist Auditor and Specialist Advisor and recently successfully completed her Diploma of Financial Planning. Karen continues to maintain professional education in a variety of interesting topics.
